  3. How do you recommend products without making a client feel pressured?
  4. A client has redness and irritation the day after a treatment. How do you respond?

Tips for hiring an esthetician

  • Book each finalist for a paid practical facial on you or a trusted client. You'll learn their touch, room setup and communication in one appointment.
  • Verify the esthetician license on your state board's lookup, and confirm which advanced treatments it covers in your state.
  • Name your product lines and equipment in the post. Estheticians often weigh the brands and devices they'll get to use.
  • Ask how they approach retail. You want someone who recommends products honestly, since pushy selling drives clients away.
