Caregiver

Part-time
Your Company is looking for a compassionate caregiver to support our clients with daily living. You'll help with bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders and light housekeeping, and be a friendly, steady presence in each client's day. Many clients see the same caregiver every week, so dependability and kindness matter most. New to caregiving? We provide paid training and will help you complete any certification our state requires.

What you’ll do

  • Help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and other personal care
  • Plan and prepare meals that follow each client's diet and preferences
  • Remind clients to take medications on schedule, as allowed by our state
  • Handle light housekeeping and laundry, and keep the home safe and free of tripping hazards
  • Help clients move, transfer and walk safely, using gait belts or lifts when needed
  • Provide companionship through conversation, games, walks and outings
  • Drive clients to appointments and errands when the role includes transportation
  • Record each visit's care and report changes in health or mood to your supervisor

What we’re looking for

  • Kind, patient and respectful with clients who need help with daily activities
  • Reliable and on time for every shift, since clients count on you
  • Able to help clients move and transfer safely, with training and equipment provided
  • Willing to complete a background check and TB screening as required by our state
  • Home health aide (HHA) or certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification if our state requires it
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance and a reliable vehicle if the role includes driving

Nice to have

  • Experience caring for clients living with dementia or memory loss
  • CPR and first aid certification
  • Experience with hospice, mobility support or recovery after surgery

Tips for hiring a caregiver

  • Check your state's rules for home care workers, including training hours, background checks and whether caregivers may help with medications.
  • Ask how candidates would handle real situations, like a fall or a refused bath. Kindness and good judgment matter more than a long résumé.
  • If you can offer steady hours and consistent clients, say so in your post. Both are strong selling points for caregivers.
  • Call references and try to reach a past supervisor who saw the candidate's care firsthand.
