Tutor job description template

Tips for hiring a tutor
- Ask finalists to teach you a short concept in their subject as a 10-minute mock session. Knowing a subject and explaining it well are two different skills.
- Run a background check and call references for every tutor, even if sessions happen in an open, supervised space.
- Be clear about how many hours you can offer. Many tutors juggle several jobs, and steady sessions help you keep the good ones.
- Spread the word through local teacher networks and school parent groups; former classroom teachers often want flexible part-time work.
